Dial plan defines a set of rules applied whenever the extension places an Outbound call, via PBX. The dial plan can be used to define permissions and call traffic routing, directing calls through a specific trunk or applying rules (like prefixes) to all call that match a regular expression.
When a call is made, the call is checked for a match on the dia plans in the following order:
- Assigned dial plans
- Client dial plan
- System dial plan
If the call does not match any rule from the dial plans indicated above, it is blocked.
Auto-attendants check for a match on the Client dial plan.
