Adoption factors

The essential facts influencing the adoption of ME are:

  • Migration to IP telephony environments. Softphones and smartphones are capable of being natively integrated into a corporate telephony context.
  • Cost rationalization. The price of communications and mobility devices is declining, making it accessible to all business segments. On the other hand, companies can begin to reduce physical desktop phones and their network requirements, since mobile devices quickly replace these fixed terminals.
  • Take advantage of wireless networks in emerging economies. Wireless LANs (especially based on WiFi) are a reality in many organizations, offering excellent connectivity within the building for voice and data. In many countries (including Africa and Latin America) Mobile 3G coverage is not completely satisfactory within the buildings, but the use of a mobile device that takes advantage of WiFi networks (inside) and 3G/4G (outside) is a great mobility choice.
